When self-driving robotic cars begin to share the road with regular cars, could we control the robotic cars to smooth out traffic jams? This is a numerical and theoretical study of vehicle traffic dynamics and control policies that smooth traffic by controlling only a fraction of the vehicles.

MASLAB (Mobile Autonomous Systems Laboratory) Competition (January 2011)
Three friends and I built and programmed a vision-based autonomous mobile robot in less than a month as part of the MASLAB competition at MIT. Little putzputz trained very hard and killed it in every competition. We won first place.
Cortical Machine Learning Algorithms @ Numenta

I worked on prototyping and testing various algorithms for online unsupervised visual feature learning as part of Numenta's Cortical Learning Algorithms. I also wrote a system to do 3D visualization of learning (pictured above).
